ABOUT

I was born in 1989 in Poland. I studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan at Scenography Department. After four years and half a year of an exchange program in Latvia, I came to Amsterdam. I studied here at the Theater School (now Academy for Theater and Dance). I graduated in 2017 and at the same year I was honored with First Harry Wich's scholarship for Scenography. In 2019 together with Emilia Grzeczka we established platform for Drawing Improvisations called: How to draw a Pony. Since my graduation I continue my practices with space. SPACE is the most important reason-motiv-"excuse" for me to create. It has always played fundamental role in my development and stayed this way until today. I like to think about Space as something that remains a body and I look for the contexts, counterpoints, stories. It provokes me to search, to find out how : to capture, analyze, make questions, stay present and be honest towards the aspects I'm touching upon. Definately, undoubted and inseparable relation with space has always have drawing. My first drawing and painting teacher ( Iwona Stachura ) introduced me to the field of Art and planted a seed of curiosity. During my studies in Poland I went through the "experimental paradise". When I got accepted at Academy of Fine Arts I was 20 years old and at the time Academy was my biggest dream to come true. I graduated being mentored by Mikołaj Poliński and Jarosław Szelest at their Conceptual Drawing Laboratory. It was the first time for me to freely experiment with space, without designing, predicting but by improvising, analyzing, experiencing an exchange between me and space leaded by intuition. My graduation installation " Surface no.0" has been developing in last years, transforming into different mediums, formulas and still bringing new questions. The experience one-to-one with space is crucial to me. Physical and mental connection with the medium. Live time experience with the performance, with the audience, with the space, with the drawing, in the same time and space , in movement.
